In summer of 2011, at age 12, Stephanie Erin Brill started “going rogue” performing at the edge of festivals, catching interest from passersby. The feedback from those listening encouraged her to pursue bigger stages.
Today at 19, the award winning singer songwriter has written dozens of original songs. Catch a live performance where you will be treated to a true taste of piano based Folky/Pop Americana music, with vocals that at times will be rich and powerful, soulful, sweet and gentile.
Welcomed comparisons to Regina Spektor, Christina Perri and Jillette Johnson. Influences and inspiration from Ben Folds, Jack White, Regina Spektor, Avett Brothers and music legends Paul McCartney, Elton John, Eagles, Billy Joel.
Brill’s recent single “Little Bird” was recorded in the studio and is supported by her first lyric video. She recorded her first 10 song piano and vocal CD at age 13. In 2014 Stephanie self-released “Save The Day”. It was her first studio produced EP and consists of 5 originals showcasing her maturity as a songwriter.
Stephanie is currently studying Songwriting and Music Composition at McNally Smith College of Music in St.Paul, Minnesota. She has received both the McNally Smith Founders Grant and Honors Scholarship. On and off of campus, Stephanie performs with McNally Smith’s CVE vocal ensemble and Indie Rock ensemble. Additionally you will find Stephanie performing as a solo singer songwriter and with her full band when requested.
As an “Emerging Artist” Stephanie has racked up some notable gigs, awards and accolades. Highlights include Summerfest performances (with full band) on the US Cellular and KNE New Music Stages. She has “Opened For” Crystal Bowersox (American Idol) @ Turner Hall Ballroom, The Living Statues @ Chill on the Hill and Grammy Awarded songwriter Jon Vezner @ The Wisconsin Singer Songwriter Series. Featured showcase artist @ Yellow Phone Music Conference, Mile of Music, Summerfest KNE New Music Stage, Steel Bridge Songfest, Madison’s Capital Theatre, UW Madison Memorial Terrace, and many more stages and venues.
The Cedarburg, WI songwriter has three Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) “Rising Star” Nominations, Madison Area Music Association (MAMA) Youth “Female Vocalist of the Year” and “First Chair” Awards, awarded third place in the Wisconsin Singer Songwriter Series (WSSS) and earned 2012 & 2014 gigs in the WAMI Summerfest “Youth Showcase”.
In the Anton Music Productions Studio Stephanie improved her songwriting arrangements and lyrics under the direction of producer Tony Schueller.
